 |plant toxic effect details=Excessive turmeric intake has been documented to stimulate menstruation and cause abortion. Despite several clinical trials performed, not a lot of adverse reactions have been reported, except for rare cases of contact dermatitis and anaphylaxis. An increased risk of kidney stones is possible in susceptible individuals.
 No reports of toxicity have been reported following ingestion of large amounts of turmeric.
